In this video you will observe the changes that occur during the reactions of three solutions of ammonium cyanide. In this reaction hydrogen cyanide reacts with itself to form larger molecules. This type of a reaction is called a polymerization. The three flasks are all at the same temperature, but differ in the initial concentration of ammonium cyanide. The concentrations in the flasks from left to right are: one, two, and four molar. Be sure to observe carefully and note any changes and the relative times that they occur. Use the clock on the bottom as a reference.
